About the Speaker
Ian Foster is a professor of Computer Science at the University of Chicago. He is director of the Data Science & Learning Division and a Distinguished Fellow at Argonne National Laboratory. Foster received a BSc degree from the University o Canterbury, New Zealand & a Ph.D. from Imperial College, the United Kingdom for Computer Science. His research focuses on the acceleration of discovery in a network used distributed computing.
